I Felt Conscious During Hypnosis — Was I Really Hypnotised?

“I could hear everything. I knew I was in the room. I was even thinking… was I actually hypnotised?”

This is one of the most common questions people ask after a QHHT® (Quantum Healing Hypnosis Technique®) session.

Many people expect hypnosis to feel like being asleep, unconscious or completely unaware of their surroundings. In reality, hypnosis can feel surprisingly natural. You may remain conscious, hear your practitioner speaking and notice your thoughts throughout the experience.

The good news? You do not need to lose consciousness for a QHHT® session to be meaningful.

What Does Hypnosis Feel Like During QHHT®?

QHHT® uses relaxation and visualisation to help you explore your inner experience. During a session, you may feel deeply relaxed, experience vivid imagery, notice emotions or describe scenes that seem to unfold spontaneously.

You might also find yourself wondering, “Am I doing this right?” or “Am I imagining everything?”

These thoughts are completely understandable. Everyone experiences hypnosis differently, and there is no single sensation that proves you are in a deep trance.

Some people experience a change in their perception of time, while others remain aware of the room and their practitioner’s voice. You do not need to empty your mind, force images to appear or stop thinking.

“What If I Was Just Imagining Everything?”

This is a particularly common question during QHHT® and past-life regression sessions.

Your imagination remains active during hypnosis and being aware of yourself does not mean you have failed to enter a hypnotic state.

During a QHHT® session, you may experience scenes, emotions, sensations or narratives that feel like memories. These experiences can be explored with curiosity and without pressure to interpret them in a particular way.

It is important to recognise that an experience that feels like a past life does not, by itself, establish that it is a historically verified memory. What matters to many people is exploring the personal meaning and insights they take from the experience.

You do not have to prove anything or experience a particular outcome. Simply allow yourself to participate and remain open to what arises.

Experience QHHT® in Perth with Elena

As a Level 2 QHHT® practitioner, I guide clients through a supportive, individualised process that allows them to explore their own internal experiences without telling them what they should see or feel.

QHHT® sessions are unique to each person. You do not need previous hypnosis experience and you do not need to switch off your mind or surrender control.

If you have been curious about past-life regression but worried that you might not be hypnotised deeply enough, you may be reassured to know that remaining aware is a normal experience for many people.
